Planning together is useful. Noticing each other matters too.
Couples can become efficient at coordinating groceries, bills and schedules while still missing how the other person is actually doing. Weekly Sync creates a predictable, low-pressure moment for both.
It is intentionally small. The goal is not to turn every Sunday into therapy or solve the whole relationship. It is to surface one feeling, one appreciation or need, and one action you can carry into the week.
Reflect privately
Each partner answers without being influenced by the other's response. That makes it easier to be honest before the conversation begins.
Reveal together
Answers become a shared starting point after both partners participate, helping you notice alignment and differences without guessing.
Choose one promise
Turn reflection into one realistic commitment for the week, then revisit it during the next sync instead of letting a good conversation disappear.
Build a gentle rhythm
Weekly reminders and visible progress make the ritual easier to repeat without filling the relationship with daily questionnaires.
How a Weekly Sync flows
- One partner starts the week's sync. Tandem presents a short set of prompts about the week and the relationship.
- Both partners answer on their own phones. The first person's answers stay private while the other completes theirs.
- The sync reveals both perspectives. Use the result as a reason to appreciate, clarify or talk—not as a score.
- You agree on one shared promise. Keep it small enough to do before the next Weekly Sync.
- Next week begins with a check-back. Notice what happened, learn from it and choose the next useful action.
Questions that create useful conversations
- How did this week feel for you?
- What is one thing you appreciated about us?
- What felt heavier than it needed to?
- What do you need more or less of next week?
- What is one small thing we can do for each other?

Weekly relationship check-in questions
How long should a weekly check-in take?
A few minutes in the app and a short conversation are enough most weeks. Consistency matters more than making every sync deep.
Can Tandem replace couples therapy?
No. Weekly Sync supports everyday reflection and communication; it is not clinical care or a substitute for professional help.
What if only one partner completes it?
The completed reflection can wait for the other partner. A reminder can help, but the sync should remain an invitation rather than pressure.
Tandem is currently free on iOS and Android.
